Mary Berry’s Easter Feast Ep.1 dishes:
1. Apple frangipane tart
With a base of crushed biscuits, rather than pastry, this tart is quick to make – no need for any rolling out or baking blind. The apple and almond go so well together too. Make it a day ahead then just reheat it when you are ready to serve.
2. Roasted vegetable quiche
Filled with colourful chunky vegetables and large enough to serve a crowd, this would make a decorative addition to an Easter feast. Roasting the vegetables, and including Gruyère with its distinctive flavour, ensures that it is very moreish too.
3. Whole sea bass with warmed tomato and citrus salsa
Cooking a whole fish looks so impressive and the warmed salsa has a lovely zingy citrus flavour.
4. Russian Devilled Eggs
Karina Baldry teaches Mary to make Russian Devilled Eggs.
5. Mary Berry’s Hot Cross Buns
Making delicious hot cross buns can be a bit of a palava, but it’s worth the effort.
6. Mary Berry’s simnel cake
Traditionally simnel cakes are very rich but this one is a bit lighter but just as flavourful.
