We pay a visit to the RHS Chatsworth show in Derbyshire where Nick Bailey, Carol Klein and Joe Swift explore the showground to bring us the best of the plants and show gardens that the exhibitors have to offer. Adam Frost is in London where he finds plenty of tips on how to bring tiny garden spaces to life, and we review the finalists’ gardens in our Every Space Counts competition and open the vote.

Growing your own tomatoes is simple and just a couple of plants will reward you with plenty of delicious tomatoes in the summer. There are all sizes of tomatoes to try, from the tiniest cherry types, favourites with children, through to full-flavoured giant beefsteak tomatoes.

Tomatoes generally come in two different growth habits: cordon (or indeterminate) tomatoes grow tall, reaching up to 1.8m (6ft) and require support; bush (or determinate) tomatoes are bushy and don’t require staking.

Tomatoes are easy to grow from seed. You can sow seed from late March to early April if you will be growing the plants outdoors. If you are planning on growing your tomatoes in a greenhouse, you can start sowing seed earlier, from late February to mid-March.

RHS Chatsworth Flower Show 2018

A huge display of orchids which you can see through the eyes of a bee and a stunning river of flowers are just two of the highlights of the RHS Chatsworth Flower Show, which starts today. The show returns to Chatsworth from June 6 to 10, with other highlights including a display of moth orchids billed as the most spectacular ever seen in the UK.

Up to 5,000 plants will be used at the event, with 100 varieties on show. Award-winning floral designer and TV personality Jonathan Moseley, known for his innovative and creative floral designs and as a judge on the BBC Two gardening series The Big Allotment Challenge, is masterminding the extravaganza.

I appreciate this amazing content so well organised however the advert are so invasive that I am not sure jt is worth watching. Especially the banners that stay put on the screen making it impossible to see part of the image.
